Born in 1969, I was profoundly influenced by the hippy culture that lingered through my formative years. Although their passion and idealisms were overrun by capitalist and corporate culture permeation, we as the future generations of their efforts reap many of the benefits their struggles provided us:

• Greater inclusiveness.
• A woman's right to choose and to be free and equal.
• The environmental movements.
• Consumer advocate policies.
• Many, many others.

I am very grateful to have grown up in an era that was the birth of many of the same struggles we have today have a firm legislative footing. I hope that we continue to evolve into a society that recognizes:

• All people are equal.
• Though we come in many colors, there is only one race, Human.
• Healthcare and family planning is a right and not a privilege.
• The environment is a finite resource.
• We are one world made up of many nations.
